Zoological Absurdities in the Bible (references were taken from the KJV )

 1. Bible says Fowls have four legs

KJV Leviticus 11 :20 All fowls that creep, going upon all four, shall be an abomination unto you .

Cross Question :
Can any Christian show us where in the earth we can find a single bird with four legs. You can see these kind of jokes only in Bible and fables. Bibles says there are winged creatures (birds or insects) that go around on all fours. There are no birds that go around on four legs, and all insects have six legs.

Do they not see the birds, constrained in the middle of the sky ? None withhold them but Allah ; most surely there are signs in this for a people who believe (Holy Qur'an 16 :79)

And there is no animal that walks upon the earth nor the birds that flies with its two wings (but) they are genera like yourselves (Holy Qur'an 6: 38)

"Do not the unbelievers see that the heavens and the earth were joined together, then  We clove them asunder and We  got every living thing out of WATER , Will they then not believe " (holy Qur'an 78:6-7)

There are many verses which are more easily understandable. but  which conceal a biological meaning that is highly significant.

2. Unicorn

Isaiah  34:7 And the unicorn shall come down with them and the bullocks with the bulls

Numbers 23:22 God brought them out of Egypt; he hath as it were the strength of an unicorn

Numbers 24:8  God brought him forth out of Egypt; he hath as it were the strength of an unicorn: he shall eat up the nations his enemies, and shall break their bones, and pierce them through with his arrows.

Deuteronomy 33:17 His glory is like the firstling of his bullock, and his horns are like the horns of unicorns: with them he shall push the people together to the ends of the earth: and they are the ten thousands of Ephraim, and they are the thousands of Manasseh.

Job 39:9-11
9: Will the unicorn be willing to serve thee, or abide by thy crib?
10: Canst thou bind the unicorn with his band in the furrow? or will he harrow the valleys after thee?
11: Wilt thou trust him, because his strength is great? or wilt thou leave thy labour to him?

Psalms 22:21 Save me from the lion's mouth: for thou hast heard me from the horns of the unicorns (Psalms 22:21, 29:6, 92:10 )

Cross Question  :

This animal is seen only in cartoons, epics and in the Bible. The Biblicists are trying their utmost to give a better answer or a reason, unfortunately they fail.

3. Rabbit

Leviticus11:6  And the hare, because he cheweth the cud, but divideth not the hoof; he is unclean unto you.

Cross Question  :
'Gerah', the term which appears in the MT means (chewed) cud, and also perhaps grain, or berry (also a 20th of a sheckel, but I think that we can agree that that is irrelevant here). It does *not* mean dung, and there is a perfectly adequate Hebrew word for that, which could have been used. Furthermore, the phrase translated 'chew the cud' in the KJV is more exactly 'bring up the cud'. Rabbits do not bring up anything; they let it go all the way through, then eat it again. The description given in Leviticus is inaccurate, and that's that. Rabbits do eat their own dung; they do not bring anything up and chew on it.

4. Donkey speaks human language (presumably Hebrew)

Numbers 22:21-30 A donkey sees an angel, recognizes it as such, and then speaks in human language (presumably Hebrew) to his master.

5. Serpent speaks human language (presumably Hebrew)

Genesis 3:1-5 The serpent speaks human language (presumably Hebrew).

6. Snail melt as they move

Psalms 58:8  As a snail which melteth, let every one of them pass away: like the untimely birth of a woman, that they may not see the sun.

Cross Question  : Slugs and/or snails melt as they move.

7.  Cockatrices

Isaiah 11:8 And the sucking child shall play on the hole of the asp, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the cockatrice' den.

Isaiah 14:29  Rejoice not thou, whole Palestina, because the rod of him that smote thee is broken: for out of the serpent's root shall come forth a cockatrice, and his fruit shall be a fiery flying serpent.

Isaiah 59:5 They hatch cockatrice' eggs, and weave the spider's web: he that eateth of their eggs dieth, and that which is crushed breaketh out into a viper.

Jeremiah 8:17 For, behold, I will send serpents, cockatrices, among you, which will not be charmed, and they shall bite you, saith the LORD.

8. Dragons

Deuteronomy 32:33;
Their wine is the poison of dragons, and the cruel venom of asps.

Job 30:29  I am a brother to dragons, and a companion to owls.

Psalms 74:13 Thou didst divide the sea by thy strength: thou brakest the heads of the dragons in the waters.

Psalms 148:7  Praise the LORD from the earth, ye dragons, and all deeps:

Isaiah 13:22 And the wild beasts of the islands shall cry in their desolate houses, and dragons in their pleasant palaces: and her time is near to come, and her days shall not be prolonged.

Isaiah 27:1 In that day the LORD with his sore and great and strong sword shall punish leviathan the piercing serpent, even leviathan that crooked serpent; and he shall slay the dragon that is in the sea.

Isaiah 43:20 The beast of the field shall honour me, the dragons and the owls: because I give waters in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert, to give drink to my people, my chosen.

and refer Jeremiah 9:11, 10:22, 14:6; and Mic 1:8

9. Satyrs

Isaiah 13:21
But wild beasts of the desert shall lie there; and their houses shall be full of doleful creatures; and owls shall dwell there, and satyrs shall dance there.

Isaiah 34:14 The wild beasts of the desert shall also meet with the wild beasts of the island, and the satyr shall cry to his fellow; the screech owl also shall rest there, and find for herself a place of rest

10. Fiery or flying serpents

Numbers 21:6
And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.

Deuteronomy 8:15 Who led thee through that great and terrible wilderness, wherein were fiery serpents, and scorpions, and drought, where there was no water; who brought thee forth water out of the rock of flint;

Isaiah 14:29 Rejoice not thou, whole Palestina, because the rod of him that smote thee is broken: for out of the serpent's root shall come forth a cockatrice, and his fruit shall be a fiery flying serpent.

Isaiah 30:6 The burden of the beasts of the south: into the land of trouble and anguish, from whence come the young and old lion, the viper and fiery flying serpent, they will carry their riches upon the shoulders of young asses, and their treasures upon the bunches of camels, to a people that shall not profit them.

10. Bat is a bird says Bible

Leviticus 11:13 -19 And these are they which ye shall have in abomination among the fowls; they shall not be eaten, they are an abomina- tion: the eagle, and the ossifrage, and the ospray
..................
Leviticus 11:19
And the stork, the heron after her kind, and the lapw- ing, and the bat.

Cross Question  : Leviticus 11:13,19 and Deuteronomy 14:11,18 claim that the bat is a bird, which we know is false

11. Insect with four legs

Leviticus 11:21  Yet these may ye eat of every flying creeping thing that goeth upon all four, which have legs above their feet, to leap withal upon the earth

Leviticus 11:22 Even these of them ye may eat; the locust after his kind, and the bald locust after his kind, and the beetle after his kind, and the grasshopper after his kind.

Leviticus 11:23 But all other flying creeping things, which have four feet, shall be an abomination unto you.

Cross Question  : There are no insect with that go around on four legs, and all insects have six legs.

12. Fowl from waters or ground

Genesis 1:20  And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven.

Genesis 1:21 And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good.

Genesis 2:19  And out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof.

13. Odd genetic engineering

Genesis 30:39  And the flocks conceived before the rods, and brought forth cattle ringstraked, speckled, and spotted.

14. Birds blood for leprosy

Leviticus 14:49-53 The cure for leprosy involves incantations and the blood of a bird.

15. Birds existence before the reptiles

According to Genesis 1:20-25, birds were in existence before reptiles and insects (things which "creep upon the earth"). But science has established that there were reptiles on the earth 150 million years before there were any birds and that insects go back another 100 million years before reptiles.

16. Whale

The Bible (Genesis 1:21-24) places whales in existence before "creeping things", but scientists have determined that the origin of whales is relatively recent, in geologic time, compared with such "creeping things" as reptiles and insects.

17. Fruits or Animals

According to Genesis 1:12,21 there were fruit trees on the earth before there were any animals, but the fossil record proves that there were many animals on the earth hundreds of millions of years before there were any fruit trees.

18. Carnivores or Herbivores, which is first ?

According to the Bible, there were no carnivores prior to the Fall (Genesis 1:29-30; Ro 5:12,14,17; 1Co 15:21). But science has shown that carnivorous animals have existed for hundreds of millions of years. For example, some fossilized dung contains fragments of bone, teeth, and hair. The strontium content of some bones is that known for carnivores. And some fossilized teeth are sharp, as opposed to flat, etc. Even the fact that prehistoric humans had hunting tools disconfirms the Biblical account. Finally, from facts about the bodily makeup of such animals as spiders, fish, reptiles, felines, etc., it is clearly false that there was once a time when such animals were herbivorous.

19. Fish

According to Genesis 1:21-25,31, the time span from the first appearance of fish on our planet to the first appearance of mammals was one day. But science has established that the actual time span was over a quarter of a billion years!
